“What is the opposite of disappointed?” My daughter asked while she was working on her vocabulary homework. Laughing at my own train of thought, I said, “Appointed.” The following evening, I was sitting in a circle of friends, and one woman confessed, “I just don’t want to disappoint anyone.” She was talking about what we […]
The truth is, everyone is fighting a silent battle. Some express it more than others, but truly everyone wants to be seen, known and loved. That night we got to look at Lauren and we chose to see a man who was hurt, lost or confused and one who needs to be loved and known.
“My cup runneth over…but so does my laundry.”
Do you ever have a plan or picture that goes over perfectly in your mind? Yep. Me too. So my toddler was starting off to school last Monday and trust me, I had her bag packed, the cutest outfit laid out and everything ready for the picture perfect moment. I got her and my son out of the car, only to realize I couldn’t find my phone. ANYWHERE.
WELCOME IN When someone mentions that they are coming over, I usually turn into some crazy mom who has to deep clean everything. It is stressful, frustrating and most of the time impossible, plus it isn’t an enjoyable experience. Recently a woman told me that she just invites people over to do life with her, […]
“I was a good girl. All the things you read on paper that you are supposed to do as a Christian, I did.. I remember feeling angry, feeling that God, I had done everything right… You put all this hope on these moments in your life and you expect them to be a certain way and that year, the year I did a lot with the label that I was signed, was not a great year. What you think in your mind everything’s going to be like, it’s really not.”
“This is what is looks like when your two year old finds your makeup bag. Needless to say, I had to replace my Mac eye shadows, Mac foundation and eyeliner. I almost cried. 😕 It’s funny and sad at the same time. 😊”
God would you replace our verbiage with “I can’t” to “I will?” Would you challenge our lens to see how we can bring peaceful solutions rather than prideful divides? Would you soften our hearts to love fully and whole to embrace one another and learn from differences? God would you help us to see the potential in every season? The strength within and the peace to press on?
I speak against confusion, frustration and division. Lord, would you bless our baby steps of growth? Would you show yourself faithful in the sacrifices and soften our hearts as we grow through this next season? We desire to live in the abundance of what you have called us to, help us to not get in the way of ourselves, but let our life, our choices and actions reflect you and be for you.
