Fight the Right Battle

Sister, I need you to hear this- there is a real enemy and real war against you, but I don’t want that to intimidate you.  God has designed women for war from the very beginning, so be encouraged- you don’t need anything more than what you have right now.  God has already given you what you need to overcome, to fight and rise victoriously, but we have to CHOOSE to be obedient, to trust the direction explicitly, and confidently proclaim that God has the final word- the battle has been won.

This is our God, your Father- the one who gave HIS son for you, the one who can heal the women plagued by a sickness for 12 years, the one who can raise a child from the dead, and the one who exchanges rejection and abandonment in stories about Joseph, Noah, and Moses for success, provision, and triumph.  This is the same God for me and for you. If He did it for them, He will do it for us. This is the foundation we must have as we move forward in faith — that He will establish our steps and withhold no good thing from us.

Romans 8:28 tells us, “And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.”  We can look at this verse and realize that just as God is working all things together for good, there is an enemy who is actively working all things against us. God waits for us to open the door, to invite Him in (Rev. 3:20) and, if we give our lives to Him and trust Him through the process then His promise is that He will work all things together for good, as we are called according to His purpose (Rom. 8:28.)

I am going to warn you: there are going to be days and moments that you do not feel like stepping on the battlefield against spiritual warfare… the unseen battle.  Instead, you will want to engage in the battle with your parents, your husband, your children, or a friend, anyone other than the real enemy.  It’s easier because they are right in front of you, likely creating the “problem.” If you are like me, you hear and see the “surface problem” and goodness, do we want to engage in a response.  When those moments spring up, all we can do is apologize and quickly get back to the right fight… the one that will change everything. When we fight the right fight, it impacts everything far deeper and greater than if we had navigated it in our own strength and limitations.

The more you train, fight, and refine your skills, the easier it becomes to detect the lies, the warning flags and get suited up to engage in warfare. The question is not if we have trials, or if we wage war, but when.  We are called to be mission-ready, every single day.  Your purpose is too great, your calling is too high and your legacy is too valuable not to.  You were designed for such a time as this, and it is by no accident that you are here, that your story has been what it has and that you are walking this season.
